I spent most of my break with my long distance girlfriend. Now that I’m back at Wellesley, I can’t do anything but think about and talk to her. Why is this so hard? FML

I hear you. It’s hard because you enjoy being together; you are used to having her companionship. Whenever I couldn’t be with my SO, I would skype with her and sleep with a pillow in my arms. It may not be the real thing, but it helps. Hang in there.

Why is it so difficult to print double sided all of a sudden??? FOLs
-
Anonymous
On the pop-up that appears after you hit print, select your printer and then hit “Properties” next to it. You can set your print job to be double-sided (and also choose portrait/landscape and whether you want the opposite side to be flipped along the long edge or the short edge).

Studying abroad…and I feel so uncomfortable. FuckRacialHomogeneity and FuckRacism.

On the other hand, as a white person, I feel like I’m learning a lot by being in a country that’s pretty homogeneously not white. Obviously this doesn’t mean I’ve experienced racism like what happens in America–I’m not in America, duh–but I am a racial minority for once, and I know it everywhere I go. For me, this is an educational kind of discomfort.
I’m sorry yours is the (it seems) bad kind of discomfort, though.

Huh...
For some reason this comment makes me feel uncomfortable and I don’t know why…

I don’t think Anon either meant to imply that the OP is white or equate hir experiences with that of POC in the US, but hir comment had the tinge of a bit of that…. Like, there really is no bright side to experiencing racism.

Agh DX Sorry! I’m (probably pretty clearly) still working on learning about how to talk about things like race appropriately, and I still make mistakes. If someone can see something that they can pinpoint as discomfiting, and feels OK with pointing it out, I’d be really grateful.
